This night your soul will be required of you. Luke 12:20

Prepare to meet your God. Amos 4:12

Out daily newspaper recently contained an obituary notie in which, to my surprise, I read the following sentence: "He thought he still had so much time." The deceased was only 53 years old at his death. One wonders what he intended to undertake in this time.

The main wish of so many today is to enjoy life to the full. They plan ahead. Ignoring the fact that something may intervene, thwarting their intentions. What a shock it must be, if they are suddenly prevented from continuing along the chosen pathway!

Atheism and agnosticism are now widespread. So many people completely disregard God, spiritual matters and the question of the afterlife. Others concede the significance of these things, yet believe they still have so much time. Remember, "procrastination is the thief of time ," as the unfortunate man mentioned above discovered.

Man has no control over the length of life or the moments of death. These are God's prerogative, they can not be attributed to chance. We need to be clear about that. Let us pay attention to two warnings given in the Bible. "God now commands all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30). " We must appear before judgement seat of Christ." ((2 Corinthians 5:10).

God graciously grants us sufficient time to acknowledge the righteousness of His claims upon us. Since all are sinners, we must repent, confess our sins before Him and accept the forgiveness He offers by believing in Christ and His atoning death. If we refuge His, how can we expect grace at the last judgement? May non of our readers imagine that he still has so much time.
