Chattrey Subba ready to start Gorkhaland Movement.,if people support him...
“I spent 11 years in Jalpaiguri Jail for the cause of the identity for the Gorkhas, and Iam always ready for it” said GLO president Chattrey Subba in an interaction with Sikkim Mail on February 2, at Kalimpong.“I don’t want money as I am getting pension from the central government” said Subba and added that before he was anarmy for the nation and now for the Gorkha community. It is because of identity crises that Gorkha are facing the problems since many years. He cited that of the 30 lacks Assamese Gorkhas who are facing severe problems due to the identity. Every single Gorkha in the world faces the same problem he added. Gorkhaland is the hundred year old demand said Subba.Subba also remembered his past and said that he was the only person to oppose the tripartite agreement between the DGHC,centre and the state in 1988.“Ghising sold the desire of Gorkha community in 1988 as he was lured by money” said Subba.“I will start a fresh movement under my own banner. We are trying to interact with the intellectual” said Subba. He said that he is not interested in the unification between Darjeeling Sikkim and wanted salvation for the clutches of West Bengal. “We hope a great amount of support from Sikkim for Gorkhaland” said Subba.Commenting on the political parties of thehills he appealed to the all the parties not to give false hope and suggestions when Gorkhaland is concerned. The communities are in a position to sacrifice their life forthe cause and the leaders should lead the right way said Subba. Self-centered and opportunistic leaders can prove fatal for the future of the Gorkhas. “Do not try to mortgage the native land” threatened Subba.People are still confused regarding Gorkhaland, but it is also on the part of the people to choose the right leaders. Basically Subba’s tour was to meet his old friends and to make plans for Gorkhaland added Subba. “If people supports me, I am ready to start Gorkhaland movement” added Subba.Concluding he said that during his 11 years in jail, he gathered much valuable experiences. Gorkhas lost about 20 years in vain because of the unable leadership. Commenting on GJM chief Bimal Gurung Subba said that Gurung is sincere, honest, and soil lover but his nearest and dearest is misguiding him.

In order to make the dream of Gorkhas to come real, a leader should fast on to death. This is the last and successful alternative for the achievement of Gorkhaland. Such person will be the true and faithful Leader for all Gorkha.

Subba had been arrested on March 24, 2001 in connection with the Subash Ghising assassination bid case. He was finally acquitted on September 9, 2011.
Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) leader Subash Ghising, then the Chairman of the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) had been attacked at Saath-ghoomti under the Kurseong sub division, on his way back from Delhi. Two police drivers died in the attack along with a suspected attacker. Six others were injured.

1st - whatever the reason to send him behind the bar was not proved yet...
2nd - If he is involved in that incident then also we can consider him, because he take such step only for Gorkhaland, Ghishing betrayed the Gorkhali and become king of the hills.
If Chattray Subba was money crazy and selfish like GJMM leader then instead of oppose DGHC, there was a lots of option for him to hold any proffitable designation in DGHC during Ghishing kingdom, because he was in just next position to Ghishing.
He was the 1st person to oppose DGHC and rise voice against GNLF Supremo, during that time current GJMM LEADERS was bussy in collecting gold coin from the mines of DGHC.

Friends you are absolutely right......
The demand of GORKHALAND and Gorkhaland Movement is not the patent of any regional party and person, it is the desire, demand and aspiration of entire Gorkha people residing all around the india. more then double population of Gorkhali are residing outside then Darjeeling & Kalimpong. So, Just a package of development and sympathy of Bengal will not solve our problems of Identity criciss.
To solve our Identity criciss is more important then
our livelihood..!
